Thank you for coming to my site.  Please read whatever interests you, forgive whatever may sound arrogant, and let me know if I've got something wrong... I'd like to know about it.

When I began learning how to boat, I was blessed with really good instructors and mentors who taught me a lot, and to discharge my debt to them I now do my best to do the same for others.  I also realize that I had the benefit of a lot of quality input from people who are online- folks who wrote informative stuff on BoaterTalk and on other forums that made something click in my head... this part of my site began more or less as an homage to them, but lately it's also become a bit of a clearinghouse for stories, as well... and it's also become one of the main features of this site.  As you can see, some of the items on the left aren't linked to anything... but this will eventually change as I get to each one in turn.

My intent for this section of my site is to provide a means to a beginning- very few of the instructional articles referenced on this page are really comprehensive or authoritative, and to this end I've linked other resources as much as I can, in addition to my own information. I also can't stress enough that much of the instructional content on this site is heavily flavored with my own opinions and prejudices- I encourage you to question everything I say in them, and also to explore other ideas- it is not my intent to be the final word on any of the subjects- rather, I hope these articles will provoke thought and questions as well as provide insight. If you have resources to add, please let me know and I'll happily link them.

In that same vein, if you've got suggestions, opposing opinions, corrections, stories, or articles of your own, I welcome them.  Again, thanks for coming... and I hope you found what you were looking for.

Chris
